Preparing For Therapy

The best way to prepare yourself to engage in therapy is through one of the classes that I offer on the regular basis. Participation in one of those classes will help you understand the process of treatment and ways to improve/maintain your mental health, which in turn will make your therapy more efficient.
In addition, you can do the following things before your first appointment to expedite the process:
· Journal about your concerns, reflect on the factors that may contribute to them. Come up with some specific examples.
· Identify and write down 3 to 5 major goals for your therapy
Answering the question of “How you would like yourself and your life be different in the end of therapy?” may help.
